Achievers Ghana students focused on a STEM project in a classroom

Our programs

Achievers Ghana's programmes support girls to go to school, learn, thrive, and become leaders and change makers in their communities. We begin with an individual girl. We are answerable first and foremost to her.

Girls excluded from education become women excluded from decision-making in every sphere of life. Our programmes tackle poverty and inequality by providing the financial and social support girls need to learn, thrive and lead.

Our programmes are designed and refined with the young people we serve. They are owned by the communities we work in, and spearheaded by our growing network of alumni who use their own resources to reach even more girls.

Girls in a RoboGirls robotics session

Pillar 01

STEM & ICT Education

Technology is a gateway to opportunity. Our ICT programmes introduce girls to the skills that will define the future economy, ensuring they have a seat at the table before anyone decides who belongs there.

Through RoboGirls and Girls in ICT, we create safe, girl-centred spaces where young women encounter engineering, coding, and problem-solving for the first time. Many discover it is exactly where they belong.

RoboGirls

After-school robotics club using Arduino and sensors. Girls build, programme, and compete, developing engineering mindsets along the way.

Girls in ICT Bootcamp

Intensive short-course bootcamps introducing girls to web development, digital tools, and careers in technology.

Web Development

HTML, CSS, and modern web tools applied to real community problems.

Arduino & Electronics

Hands-on electronics workshops that connect classroom physics to real-world engineering and innovation.

Students supported by Achievers scholarships

Pillar 02

Education & Scholarships

Financial barriers should never prevent a child from getting an education. We work in communities where families struggling to provide regular meals simply cannot afford to send their girls to school.

Our scholarship programme provides targeted financial support that covers a wide range of school-going costs, because keeping a girl in school requires much more than paying her fees.

Full & Partial Tuition

Scholarships covering complete or partial school fees for primary and secondary school students at risk of dropping out.

Materials & Uniforms

Provision of uniforms, shoes, books, stationery, and other learning materials so cost is never a reason to stay home.

After-School Tutoring

Structured academic support sessions and exam preparation for scholarship recipients who need extra help to stay on track.

School Placement

Guidance and support to help girls transition between school levels, finding the right school and navigating the application process.

Mentorship and leadership session

Pillar 03

Leadership & Mentorship

Every girl needs someone who believes in her. Our mentorship programme connects girls with role models: women who have navigated similar barriers and come through, and who guide and hold them accountable.

Many of our mentors are Achievers alumni. They bring lived experience and empathy to every session. For many girls, a mentor is the first adult outside their family who has told them they can lead.

One-on-One Mentorship

Matched pairs of girls and professional mentors who meet regularly, building trust, setting goals, and working through challenges together.

Leadership Workshops

Group sessions on public speaking, decision-making, and leadership skills, taught by women who use them every day.

Confidence Building

Structured activities to build self-esteem and confidence, so girls know they belong in any room they enter.

Alumni Mentoring Network

Achievers graduates who return to mentor younger students. On average, each alumna directly supports three more girls to stay in school.

Career skills and workforce readiness

Pillar 04

Career Skills & Workforce Readiness

Learning to code is one thing. Knowing what to do with it is another. We help girls see themselves in tech careers, and give them the tools to get there.

Senior students build portfolios, practise technical writing, and take part in competitions and external events that connect them to the wider tech world.

Portfolio Development

Students document their projects: games, robots, presentations. A body of work that shows what they can do.

Entrepreneurship Mindset

We encourage girls to think about the problems around them and ask how technology could help solve them.

Public Speaking & Presentation

From impromptu talks to community showcases, girls practise communicating their ideas with confidence.

Competitions & Showcases

Students represent Achievers Ghana at STEM fairs, robotics tournaments, and youth tech events across Ghana.

Community advocacy and outreach

Pillar 05

Advocacy & Community Outreach

Lasting change requires communities to believe in it. We work alongside families, local leaders, and community champions to dismantle the attitudes and structures that keep girls out of school.

We do not arrive with answers. We build trust, listen deeply, and support communities to find their own path to protecting and educating every girl, because change that comes from within lasts.

End Child Marriage

Community campaigns raising awareness and shifting norms around early marriage, working with elders, parents, and young people together.

GBV Prevention

Gender-Based Violence prevention education and referral support for girls who have experienced abuse or are at risk.

Community Sensitisation

Dialogues and workshops with parents, teachers, and community leaders on the value of educating girls.

Parent Engagement

Structured parent groups that build support networks around girls, so home and school work together.
