On Thursday, Achievers Ghana had the great privilege of welcoming a team of vibrant and industrious ladies from BPS to our Learning Center in Accra. Their visit, which formed part of BPS’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, was not only inspiring but also highly impactful. It represented a continuation of the strong partnership that has been growing between BPS and Achievers Ghana since August 2024.

The main objectives of the visit were thoughtfully designed to contribute directly to the personal and academic development of our girls. The BPS team came to check in with the girls in a friendly and supportive manner to better understand their current needs and challenges. They also aimed to provide meaningful career advice and mentorship to help guide the girls as they plan their futures. In addition, the visit sought to foster a supportive environment where the girls would feel encouraged and motivated to continue their education and to emphasize the importance of women’s and girls’ rights and gender equality.

The program began with a brief but engaging introduction of the visiting team. It was important for the girls to see these powerful women not just as mentors, but as role models whose journeys could inspire them to dream bigger. Following the introductions, the mentorship session was led by Lois and Akua, two outstanding members of the BPS team who addressed the gathering with passion and sincerity.

Their session delved deeply into the importance of education, highlighting how it serves as the foundation for any successful career. They spoke on career planning, teaching the girls how to set goals and take steady steps toward achieving them. Most importantly, they stressed the significance of gender equality, urging the girls to believe in their abilities and to never allow societal barriers to deter them from reaching their full potential.

One of the most enriching parts of the program was the interactive question and answer session. Here, the girls posed thoughtful questions about their ambitions, uncertainties, and the obstacles they might face in the future. Lois and Akua responded with wisdom, encouraging the girls to maintain focus, embrace resilience, and never underestimate their own power.

Beyond the mentorship, other members of the BPS team shared inspiring success stories about women who, despite facing adversity, achieved remarkable success in their chosen fields. These stories demonstrated that with determination, support, and self-confidence, nothing is out of reach.

This visit was even more meaningful considering the depth of support BPS has offered Achievers Ghana over the past months. Since August 2024, BPS has been an essential partner in our mission. They have provided free internet and electricity services that allow the Achievers Ghana Learning Centre to operate smoothly. Their support has enabled the center to extend its hours—from opening in the morning to staying open until evening—thereby creating a vibrant learning environment that serves the entire community throughout the day.

Additionally, BPS has played a critical role in sponsoring 25 girls, covering their basic educational needs and ensuring that they can continue attending school without hindrance. The impact of this support cannot be overstated. It has significantly reduced dropout rates among the girls and created new opportunities for them to thrive academically and personally.

Thanks to BPS’s involvement, Achievers Ghana has been able to enhance its educational programs and deepen its outreach within the community. Girls who once struggled with inconsistent access to education now have a stable environment where they can learn, grow, and aspire to greater heights.

The visit of the BPS team to Achievers Ghana was a beautiful reaffirmation of what partnership, mentorship, and community support can achieve. It was not simply a day of activities, but a powerful reminder to our girls that they are seen, valued, and supported.
