Achievers Ghana, with the support of the KGL Foundation, successfully conducted a 3-day intensive STEM training at Ghana Senior High School (GHANASCO) in Tamale, Northern Region. The program aimed to equip young girls with practical skills in cutting-edge technology fields, including Vex Robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), Graphic Design, Web Development, and UI/UX design.

A total of 100 girls participated in this training, which was designed to foster their interest in STEM, enhance their technical skills, and prepare them for future careers in technology. The sessions were highly interactive, with hands-on learning that encouraged creativity and problem-solving among the participants.

The program was graced by the Headmaster of GHANASCO and several members of the school staff. They expressed their joy and admiration for the young and enthusiastic trainers from Achievers Ghana, who skillfully led the sessions. The trainers themselves were former participants in Achievers Ghana’s earlier programs, making this a full-circle moment of empowerment and knowledge-sharing.

The headmaster and staff were particularly impressed by the impact the initiative has on the girls, stating that programs like these are crucial for shaping the future of female leadership in technology. The support from KGL Foundation and Achievers Ghana’s efforts to create opportunities for girls in STEM is paving the way for a new generation of innovators in the Northern Region.

The Program Manager of TIN Ghana – Mr Mohammed, our Northern Regional partner, opened the program with motivational and inspiring words that energized the participants. His words set the tone for the learning sessions, inspiring the girls to make the most of the opportunity. Achievers Ghana is incredibly grateful to TIN Ghana for their unwavering support and facilitation of our presence in the Northern Region, helping to ensure the success of this initiative.

This program was a success, and a huge thanks goes to all partners, participants, and facilitators who made it possible. Together, we are building a brighter future for girls in STEM.
