Achievers Ghana in collaboration with Women In Debate, University of Ghana – Legon Chapter marked the International Women Day with the introduction of basic Arduino Uno Technology to 320 girls at Ayarifa Presbyterian Basic School in Accra on 7th March, 2020.
Supporting the Girls in ICT movement empowers girls and young women, giving them the confidence to pursue ICT studies and careers. The program is based on hand-on workshops and activities on Arduino Uno using the Breadboard, Jumper Wires and LED to create a prototype traffic light. It was really an interesting and educative as that event is the first of its kind to many girls in that community.
Girls and young women have the potential not only to become ICT users, but also to become ICT creators. And the good news is that jobs as ICT creators often offer higher salaries and lower gender-based pay gaps than in other fields.
Achievers Ghana in partnership with Women In debate organized this event to commemorate the International Women’s Day to encourage girls to pursue ICT careers. This event is supported and sponsored by Global Fund for Children.
